Murrawah Performance Horses

Susan Frost & Robert Camfferman purchased their property "Murrawah" in June of 2002 after falling in love with the potential of a rather rocky and run down homestead at an Open House. After 3 tough years of renovating and improvements they are now seeing their dream come to fruition. Murrawah Performance Horses is now home to nearly 20 Quality Paint & Quarter Horses bred for 2 distinct disciplines, Reining & Halter.

Susan and Robert both graduated from Agricultural colleges, studying Equine, Robert in SA at Roseworthy Ag College and Susan at Gatton Ag College. Dixie MornBoth have always had horses in their lives, Robert as a Jackeroo on large properties in the territory and competing in Roping and Bull riding at Rodeos. Susan grew up on the Western show circuit with Palouse Ponies when they were hugely popular in the 70's and early eighties. Susan's mother Judy Frost bred and produced a National Champion weanling colt, in a class of 28 colts. Over the years they had 2 Palouse Pony Stallions and Susan showed her mare for many wins and placing's at State and National level as a Youth.

Both Robert and Susan changed over to other horse disciplines in their lives competing in Dressage, Hacking and Rodeo but have now come to love the western sports and have found a real passion for Reining and also Halter Horses.

In 2002 Rob & Susan re-commenced showing after purchasing some well bred horses from Rockhampton Quarter Horse Sale.  They then went on to find the wonderful Paint Sire "Touch of Doc" and were proud to stand Doc for 2 seasons producing some wonderful foals. In 2004 they decided to sell Doc due to the time constraints of their business and they have retained 2 quality Doc babies. Deciding not to stand a stallion has allowed them to go in search of breeding to some of their favourite outside sires.

Susan and Rob in the past year have had Scott Sutton as a resident Trainer at their property, Scott was recently married and has now moved to the Sunshine Coast where he will continue to train reining horses for Murrawah. For the time being Susan & Rob will continue with their current breeding and showing program without a resident trainer.

The wonderful property is 23 acres and is located 4km from Oakey near Toowoomba in Qld . The property has a large 4 bedroom home with a double garage, a detached cottage, Top class Reining Arena Surface, roundyard and 5 stables in their new Titan Barn. Electric fencing with 6 paddocks and 8 yards. Located only 45minutes to Gatton Indoor and 10 mins to Toowoomba it is well situated for the SE Qld Show circuit.

Susan & Robert are proud to promote their property and training services to the industry and are looking forward to producing some good looking show horses, some top reiners and some happy winning clients well into the future.
